PeopleFund.it are one among many crowdfunding platforms open to UK business, creative and community ventures.

Crowdfunbding is an exciting and empowering way of raising finance and building community.

Please see a full list of UK platforms on my blog at crowdfunduk.wordpress.com. I am also running an introductory workshop on crowdfunding in Manchester Feb 2nd 2012 http://crowdfunduk.eventbrite.co.uk/. This is open to any third sector organisation.

Gary, I appreciate your views are sincerely held and to many people Occupy Lancaster will not seem the right way to act.
However unpleasant or unnecessary it may seem, the right to non-violent protest that draws attention to what many believe are injustices has a long history and is central to a democratic society. Many causes that included similar protest, like the campaigns of Martin Luther King or the Suffragettes, would now generally seem to be justified. As to whether the actions of the worldwide Occupy movement will one day be viewed in the same way... only history can say.
I do want to make very clear my original post was my individual action, taken without reference to others and not made on behalf of the North Lancashire Social Enterprise Network. Neither NLSE, Shared Future CIC (or I) was a founder or instigator of this protest.
